Nigeria Football Federation Swoop In For Tammy Abraham

Having recently taken Ola Aina from the clutches of England`s full international squad, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are after another Chelsea youngster, Tammy Abraham. Currently on loan with Swansea City, Abraham could play for the Super Eagles by virtue of his father`s birth.
Although the 19 year old has played for England at various levels up to and including under 21, he is still eligible to play for Nigeria as he hasn`t yet played for the senior England team.
The NFF president Amaju Pinnick grew up with Abraham`s father and he hope to use that relationship to persuade the striker to make an international move.
Should he chose Nigeria, and join up with ex-Chelsea midfielder Mikel John-Obi and current wing-back Victor Moses, his chances of success are probably greater with the Super Eagles. They are more likely to win the African Cup of Nations than England are to win, the European equivalent, the Euro`s. With the Three Lions recent tournament history awful, World Cup success with Super Eagles may be a better bet as well.
His chances of starting are possibly better with Nigeria as well. To get into the England starting XI, he have get in front of Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford, not impossible, but more difficult than ousting Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho. That said a Tammy Abraham and Kelechi Iheanacho strike partnership could see the Super Eagles soar.
